Welcome Message from Tom Underhill
Dear Convention Attendees:
The 2012 SEAA National Convention & Trade Show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from March 8-10, 2012 gives us the opportunity to celebrate 40 years as an association. SEAA was formed back in 1972 by a group of erectors in Greensboro, North |
Carolina primarily to discuss whether there might be some advantages for competitors to work together.
Eddie Williams of Buckner Steel participated in this initial meeting and was elected as the group’s first president and he continues to serve on the board today. The group has grown from a small group of regional erectors to a nationwide organization with a common interest in finding better ways to perform the business of erecting structural steel.
The face-to-face communications we are able to have in Myrtle Beach will bring immediate benefits and help created a more cohesive industry where we can become both friends and competitors. There is something for everyone, topics this year include both a management and field track and include subjects such as contract language, project management, OSHA, welding productivity, training techniques, and the new crane standard.
We hope you will join us at the Kingston Plantation Resort to participate in networking opportunities, sporting activities and where you can meet fellow professionals, owners and supplier in a casual setting.
In these tough economic times we need to continue to educate our workforce to keep them current on issues that impact the bottom line. That starts with the investment of our time and effort to continually improve our people.
You are invited to be a part of our next 40 years. We’re thrilled to announce opening of registration for 40th Annual SEAA Convention. CLICK HERE to get started.
Very truly yours,
Thomas S. Underhill
