Call for Nominations of the members of the Steel Erectors Association of America for the 2008 competition of the Project of the Year, is officially now underway. All nominations postmarked by December 31, 2008 will be entered into the competition judging.

Purpose: To recognize and honor the accomplishments of members of the Steel Erectors Association of America. The Project of the Year [POY], Awards are presented annually to recognize the erection projects of our members for their superior performance and execution of exemplary projects from across the USA.

Eligibility Requirements: SEAA affiliation is required. The nomination must meet the nomination criteria, as set forth by the SEAA Awards Program. There can be no restriction on the use of the nomination submittals once it is entered and accepted in the SEAA competition.

Nomination Judging Procedure: Such nominations will be reviewed by an independent “at large” panel, selected by the SEAA which is composed of reviewers whom have demonstrated successful project management expertise.

The 2008 POY competition has three size Class categories for the erection contract. You are permitted to nominate multiple projects in each Class category.

Nomination Criteria:

1. Select the size category for your project nomination from the following categories

   Class I – for Erection Contract up to $500,000.00.

   Class II – for Erection Contract of $500,000.00 up to $1 Million.

   Class III – for Erection Contract of $1 Million and greater.

2. Nominated projects must have successfully been completed without any significant accidents or injury.
3. Only those projects “topped-out” in the calendar year of January through December 2008 are eligible for nomination.
4. Nominations will be judged solely on the materials submitted.
5. Complete and submit each nomination on the SEAA POY Nomination Summary Form, along with at least (3) camera-ready photographs/dvd/vhs, Class category, structural engineering firm, architectural firm, general contractor, project owner, erector and fabricator information.
6. Deadline: Nomination must be postmarked by: December 31, 2008

8. Confirmation: Upon receipt of such nomination the SEAA office will send email confirmation to the individual named on the Nomination Summary form acknowledging receipt of your nomination.

Announcement of Winner: The winner will be announced at the Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner set for Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Kingston Plantation Resord in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Notice to winner: The SEAA Awards Committee, will notify the winner in advance and in order for you to make arrangements to attend the Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner in South Carolina for the presentation.
