Plan Now for Fall Prevention Stand Down

2017 OSHA National Stand Down_REV

Contractors across the country will participate in the fourth annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls May 8-12, 2017. At least 7% of falls are from work on girders or structural steel, according to an infographic produced by The Center for Construction Research and Training. SEAA encourages steel erectors to offer fall protection training unique to ironworkers during May Stand Down. In addition, 60”x35” banners designed for steel erection contractors to use in their stand-down events are available. Order them online.

Visit the
National Safety Stand Down pages on OSHA’s website to access resources and register to receive a certificate of participation. Last year, most participating companies performed some type of training or offered presentations or tool box talks. Many also performed demonstrations and engaged in drills or practice activities.

Infographics, recorded webinars, and success stories are available at
The Center for Construction Research and Training.
