Recognition is open to women throughout the steel construction industry, regardless of SEAA membership The Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) is accepting nominations for its 2027 Steel Strong Women in Construction recognition program, celebrating the accomplishments and impact of women throughout the steel construction industry. “There are women doing incredible work throughout steel construction, from building and connecting steel in the field to managing projects, developing people and leading companies,” said Chris Legnon, Vice President of Technology at Cooper Steel, and President of SEAA. “Steel Strong Women in Construction gives us a way to make that work more visible while showing the next generation of women that there is a place for them, and a path forward, in this industry.” Four categories reflect the range of roles women hold across the industry: Trades, Managers, Executives, and Owners. Eligible candidates include ironworkers, welders, riggers, rodbusters, crane operators, technicians, project managers, estimators, safety professionals, sales managers, directors, senior executives, and business owners.
“Going into our third year of the Steel Strong Women in Construction recognition, the industry’s reception to the program has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Nick Caratelli, Chairman of SEAA’s Marketing Committee. “Companies and individuals have been proud to highlight the women they work alongside and share the accomplishments that might otherwise go unnoticed outside their own teams. The nominations have given us a window into the talent and leadership that exists throughout our industry, and we’re excited to continue celebrating it.” The deadline for nominations is November 16, 2026. Every nominee will be highlighted by SEAA during Women in Construction Week, March 7-13, 2027. Submit a Steel Strong nomination. Comments are closed.
