SEAA has completed its nationwide search for a new Executive Director and is pleased to welcome Pete Gum to the position. Gum has 29 years of experience as the CEO of not-for-profit construction trade associations.

Building Envelope System Completes Steel Renovation Project
Building Envelope Systems, Plainville, Mass., has completed a renovation to the Teknor Apex headquarters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Building Envelope Systems handled the structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and metal panels for the project. The structural steel scope included framing for a new canopy and a new main entrance. There were approximately 5,500 square feet of the panel that wrapped all four sides of the building. More.

Genie Provides MEWP Operator Training to Steel Erectors
In support of OSHA’s National Safety Stand Down, Genie team members provided mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) and telehandler safety presentations to steel erectors on job sites in eight states, with 600 participants. “The new ANSI A92.22 Safe Use and A92.24 Training standards require anyone who directly supervises a MEWP operator to also be trained,” said Scott Owyen, Genie Training Director. Among the products and tools demonstrated for workers were the Genie XC boom lifts, as well as LiftPower heavy-duty welder-ready generator system, Fall Arrest Bar, and LiftTools Access Deck.
