2022 Project of the Year Recipients
In all, seven companies were recognized for effectively solving unique jobsite challenges while safely completing projects. The association opened a new category this year for Miscellaneous Metal, which includes bridges, decking, ornamental steel, reinforcing steel, and steel fabrication projects.

Winners will get the chance to participate in a peer panel discussion at AISC’s Steel Conference in 2023. Read more

SEAA Celebrates 50 Years on the Historic USS Yorktown
The association kicked off its 50th Anniversary on April 8, 2022, at the conclusion of its 2022 Convention & Trade Show in Charleston, S.C., with a celebration on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. The association has released a video presentation and historical timeline that documents the last 50 years. Read More

SEAA announced at its annual membership meeting on April 7, 2022 in Charleston, S.C., the slate of officers to serve from 2022 to 2024. “I look forward to leading a dedicated group of volunteers who have fresh ideas for increasing value for our members,” said David Deem, incoming President. SEAA Members Stand Down for Safety
Several member companies participated in OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction on May 2-6, 2022.

Participating members include, Shelby Erectors, Gardner-Watson Studs, and Gardner-Watson Decking. Trivent Safety Consulting presented its Dynamic Stretch & Flex program and demonstrated rescue training to High Plains Steel Services and Derr & Gruenewald Construction during the week-long event.

Ashley Sling Turns 30
Ashley Sling Inc., Atlanta, Ga., a leading wire rope and rigging fabricator in the southeastern U.S., turned 30 in March. SDS2 2022 Solid Steel Award Application is Now Open
The SDS2 Solid Steel Award highlights the projects users are bringing to life in commercial and industrial sectors. SDS2's internal judging panel will select finalists in each category to be presented for open public voting. The winners will be announced at SDS2 Summit 2022, taking place October 19-20 in San Antonio, Texas.

​Established in 1972, the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) represents structural and reinforcing steel contractors, fabricators, and suppliers that serve this market. Our members include both small contractors (under $3 million revenue annually) and large contractors (over $10 million revenue annually). SEAA is a national organization with members in more than 40 US States and 3 Canadian Provinces.
