Among the standards applicable to steel erectors are lockout/tagout and welding and cutting standards. Additionally, in May, OSHA plans to amend parts of the cranes and derricks in construction standard. According to the Agency, the proposed amendments will include correcting references to power line voltage for direct current voltages and alternating current voltages. It will also broaden the exclusion for forklifts carrying loads under the forks from “winch or hook” to a “winch and boom,” and will also clarify work activities by articulating cranes, as reported from NCCCO during the Foundation’s 4th Industry Forum on Personnel Qualifications.
