SEAA announces the recipients of the 2020 Safety Excellence Award and Craft Training Recognition Award.

Geoff Kress, Vice President of Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc., Oldsmar, Fla., was elected President. Kress has been a member of SEAA since 2007 and served as Treasurer for eight years. More .

The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) has released Version 2.0 of its Joist Girder Moment Connections. The new downloadable version includes updates to the AISC’s 2016 specifications for most spreadsheets. In the new version, SJI also revised reference manuals to make them easier to follow. More.

Peterson Beckner Industries (PBI) has promoted Lance Beckner to president, Craig Peterson to senior vice president of sales & estimating, and Austin Beckner to senior vice president of project management & operations. SEAA Board Member Joins ENR Panel Discussion  
SEAA board member Jack Nix, vice president of operations for Shelby Erectors, Inc., will be a speaker for an upcoming Engineering News Report live webinar on robotics in construction. The webinar, “The Robots are Coming: Get Ready to Add Them to the Crew,” is scheduled for May 28, 2020 at 2 p.m. EST. Nix was chosen because of Shelby’s experience with TyBot, a robotic rebar-tying machine. More .
